We formally started making our script on November 19, 2008. We first planned on settling the flow of the documentary and listed the important points that should be seen in the film. The questions for the interviews were formulated as well. The next day, the group discussed when and how the ambush interviews about water management for UST students will be conducted. November 27-28, 2008, the ambush interviews were conducted. We roamed around the UST campus and looked for students as well as school personnels who could be asked questions about water management. We had a very hard time looking for people willing to be interviewed. Though many wished not to cooperate, we were able to get answers from students, guards and a few workers.
December 1, 2008, we tried our luck to shoot the first scenes for the documentary film. We made an idiot board to make it easier for the hosts to deliver their lines and were able to shoot a few scenes for the film introduction. We also recorded the voice-overs for some of our clips. December 3, 2008, we faxed the letter of request for Ecopark. We dated our interview with them on December 6, 2008. December 4, 2008, we called Greenpeace and MWSS to arrange interviews with them, but they told us to just call again due to some reasons.
December 6, 2008, the group met at UST AMVCOA building at 8am to catch up with the 10am interview at La Mesa Ecopark. We rode a Project 6 jeep at Espana and got off at Trinoma, from there, we rode a Lagro jeep and got off at a Marlboro St. We then rode a tricycle to Ecopark. Since it was already almost 10am and we dont want to be late, we immediately went to their office and looked for Ms. Monina. She led us to the waiting area where we waited patiently for our interviewee. He was Mr. Jodick Pulga, Maintenance/Procurement/Special Projects Head of La Mesa Ecopark. When he arrived, Mr. Pulga first asked us about our college and the project we were doing. He then asked for the list of questions that we would like to get answers for. We waited for a few minutes again until he found a location that would suit the interview and was quiet enough. He also lent us a tripod for the video camera which was really nice of him. We settled at a not so formal location. The setup for the interview was simple--a bench where Mr. Pardo seated, grasses on the ground, and trees and plants for the background. We started the interview. Jam asked the questions while Erika kept the camera rolling. Mr. Pardo aswered the questions eloquently and completely. After the interview, Mr. Pardo let us watch two video presentaions about water and about Ecopark. After watching, we thanked Mr. Pardo for his help and cooperation and took a picture with him. Since it was still early to leave and we've come a long way just to go at Ecopark, we would not want to miss actually seeing the park inside. We decided to go in the park and paid 50 pesos for the entrance fee. We enjoyed the beautiful sceneries inside and took pictures. We also shot there some of the clips that we will include in the film. After 3 hours inside the park, we already decided to go home.
December 8, 2008, the group finished the final outline of the documentary film that will be passed on December 10, 2008. We also started arranging the draft script that would be passed as well, but we just got halfway finishing it.
January 7, 2008, we conducted our last interview with Greenpeace. After our wednesday classes, we went at Tomas Morato where the Greenpeace office is located for our 3 pm appointment. Since we arrived early and Ms. Beau Bacongis is already present, we decided to start the interview at more or less 2:20 pm. We asked our questions about water management and Ms. Bacongis answered them eagerly. After the interview, we thanked Ms. Bacongis for her help and asked for a picture with her. then, we decided to go home. =)
January 14, we recorded more clips for the film inside the 2nd floor car park with Erika and Analyn as hosts. Randolf, as usual, acted as the cameraman. We also recorded clips for the uses of water around the campus. The next day, we had our third to the last day for recording voice overs. The three ladies did the voice overs while randolf was studying how to use the Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 software. The week after, we were all busy for our preliminary exams so we decided to focus first on reviewing our lessons. After the exhausting week of exams, we continued taking shots of water uses and wastage. We even asked some of our classmates to do some scenes for our film. January 28, we had no classes so we devoted our whole day in making our documentary film. We recorded more voice overs and continued on editing the film. We googled the net for more information and pictures needed. Next day, we finished recording all the voice overs needed for faster video editing. Friday to Sunday, Randolf worked on finishing the final film for the submission on February 2, 2009. Gladly, we were able to pass the project afternoon of the said date.
Finally, our documentary film was presented in the class on the 2nd of March 2009.
